The Robostir is one of those kitchen gadgets that you can’t decide if you are going to love or hate. The idea is perfect — a stirring device that can stir and stir and stire — without your oversight.
You see, the most frustrating thing about cooking is the continual stirring that you so often have to do. Why do restaurants have so many cooks? Well, a good number of them are there just to stir pots and keep the sauces from burning.
If your kitchen is like mine, that means you are the one standing there endlessly stirring the ancient pasta sauce recipe that was handed down in the family from 10 generations ago when they did not have anything else to do but stir pots.
Our life is just a tad more high-speed then it used to be.
This is where the Robostir comes in. Using its centrifugal motion it swirls its feet slowly around the bottom of a pan to keep the food from sticking and freeing your hands to go about more important tasks and enabling to prepare intricate meals in less time.
The Robostir comes in two main models. Based on customer reviews you will probably want to spend just a little more to buy the nicer model with the three speed option.
And, despite what the TV ads show, the Robostir does not seem to do too well if the sauce is too thick. However, for lighter sauces it can be a great way to keep the pots stirring while you prepare other parts of the meal.
Sure, when it comes to kitchen gadgets, the Robostir is an optional device. But lets face it, cooking is suppose to be fun. And if the Robostir makes cooking more fun, well, you probably want to take a closer look at it.
